Branch County Warrant Records Branch County Warrant Records

This page explains what we can and cannot help with, and where to send questions about official Branch County warrants. Almost every request belongs with a court, the County Clerk, the Friend of the Court, or the Sheriff's Office rather than with us. The routing below sends each kind of question to the office that actually keeps the file.

This Is Not a Government or Law Enforcement Office. We run a private reference site. We cannot confirm whether a warrant exists, recall or clear one, post bond, arrange a surrender, or give legal advice. For any of that you need the issuing court, the County Clerk, the Friend of the Court, or the Sheriff's Office directly. The Branch County Sheriff's Office publishes no searchable county warrant list and has no public warrant desk.

Need Official Warrant Information?

Here is where to route the questions people ask most often about warrants in Branch County:

  • A county criminal warrant: call the 3-A District Court criminal line at 517-279-4329. Only the court that issued the warrant can confirm its status or recall it.
  • A traffic or civil-infraction warrant: call the 3-A District Court traffic line at 517-279-4328. The county payment page handles payment only, and it does not display warrant status.
  • A felony or Circuit case: call the 15th Circuit Court at 517-279-4304, or the County Clerk at 517-279-4306 for court records, copies, and paid searches.
  • A support or parenting-time matter: call the Friend of the Court at 517-279-4314, or its bench warrant line at 517-279-5173.
  • Booking or bond after an arrest: call the Sheriff's Office and jail at 517-278-2325. Jail operations run 24 hours, and Sheriff administration is open Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
  • Resolving or clearing a warrant: speak with a licensed Michigan attorney and the issuing court about a recall, a voluntary appearance, or bond.
  • A city or village citation: call the office named on the citation. The county payment site will not process a citation whose address belongs to another municipality.

For county-level agency records, the Sheriff's Office is at 379 Keith Wilhelm Dr., Coldwater, MI 49036, phone 517-278-2325, and it publishes its own FOIA request form. Court records are a separate request. The County Clerk keeps Circuit files, and District case questions go to the District Court lines above.

The County Clerk, 15th Circuit, 3-A District, Probate, and Friend of the Court all work from the courthouse at 31 Division St., Coldwater. Courthouse doors are open 8:00 a.m. to 4:45 p.m., the Circuit office closes for lunch from noon to 1:00 p.m., and the doors close for the day in the late afternoon.
